Good Hair My Ass…

I am floored by this story. Truly. Okay…not really. I’ve worked closely with educators and I’m not surprised by ANYTHING some teachers feel comfortable doing and saying to children.

A young biracial girl in the Seattle School District was recently removed from her honors class by her teacher. The teacher claimed she was allergic to the girl’s hair product. Organic Root Stimulator to be exact:

Apparently this child was the only person of color in her honors class, and among all of those children, the little mulatto was the unbearably smelly one. Coincidence?

Probably not.

To make matters even more hilarious (and ridiculous), the teacher is a dog owner! And sure, she could have a hypoallergenic dog (which would explain why she is unbothered by dog hair/dander). But between cleaning dog shit, dog baths, dog perfumes, flea baths and dog farts, it’s hard for me to believe Olive Oil moisturizer made the teacher sickly.

The little girl was ordered to sit and do her work in the regular class. The class that happens to be full of brown and black children.

The father has blogged about this incident, and doesn’t hesitate to call it what it is. He even goes on to mention that the media attention focused almost entirely on the girl’s White mother (remember what I said about White women and the multiracial movement, and their ability to demand privilege for their “not so black kids”), and he believes this was done to give the impression that the girl is White (or to not overstate her non-Whiteness) and therefore make her worthy of public sympathy. In centering her mother the ugliness that is racism won’t be overtly assumed, but would be more seriously handled. After all, Black children being streamlined out of honors classes is no new phenomenong. Teachers and administrators have been doing this for YEARS. The hair product defense is the funniest I’ve heard yet. The girl’s White mother just “couldn’t comprehend it”.

But her father knows the game. And now she does too.

The NAACP is apparently representing the family (sigh…”real negroes” to the rescue AGAIN). So while the White mother is in her confused stupor, the NAACP does all of the dirty talk for her. The White mother is the face we sympathize with, the NAACP is the organization that mobilizes (and takes the abuse for being “race-baitors”). When will Blacks stop assuming the role of whipping boy for any and every person with a tan? Let’s find out just how Black this child was before she encountered a teacher who didn’t give a damn whether she looked like Whoopi Golberg or not. Even the father believes that she was moved to the “regular black class” to be put in her place… a place they likely made sure she didn’t belong.  Where is project RACE and the millions of mulatto organizations sprouting up by the second? Why aren’t they up in arms?

At Least They Used The Right Racial Slur

I wonder if it’s possible to quantify how much harder he would’ve been fucked up by the IMPD had he been more than “a mutt“:

Brandon Johnson, who is biracial, alleged that some of the five Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers who arrested him May 16 hurled a slur at him: “mutt.” Johnson said the officers punched, kicked and kneed him in the face while he was handcuffed. Prosecutors haven’t formally charged him.

Then again, the author of this article seems to lack the level of “clarity” shown by the police. Later the article states:

Police say the black teen tried to stir up a crowd when officers arrested his younger brother on a burglary charge.

And this warranted a beating?!?!?! Let’s be clear: I know the kid isn’t a saint (who is). But this is nothing less than excessive force. And it happens far less to delinquent White kids than to their Black and Black-ish counterparts. Unfortunately the NAACP seems to be the only organization interested in an investigation. Why? Where are the multicultural and multiracial organizations? Where are the organizations the represent the beige and tan community to which Brandon also belongs?  Why is racial inequality only a Black issue when plenty of “others” still manage to get their asses kicked? I really want to know.

The comment section of that article shouldn’t surprise any of you either. I’m too tired to pontificate on that. I’ll just say the rhetoric is really familiar.

Oh Kendra…White Women/Mixed Kids

Every time I start to wonder if I’m doing “too much” by contributing to this multiracial discourse, something tells me I’m not. It’s like Vito Coreleone:

In one of my earlier posts I discuss the foundation of the modern multiracial movement, specifically the role of White women and their desire to preserve social whiteness for their children by changing blood quantum social and legal practices, while keeping racist scientific reasoning to maintain the racial hierarchy that privileges benefits them. Note that they didn’t want to remove the idea of blood quantum, they just didn’t want it to apply to their children. Kendra, former “girlfriend” to Hugh Hefner is the mother of a biracial child. After years of ghetto posturing she was finally able to find a black-ish  man (extremely mediocre NFL player) who took her seriously enough to actually marry her. Within a year, they had a son.

Pay attention to her response regarding racism to Star Magazine:

STAR: Because Little Hank is biracial, do you worry he will face racism?

Kendra: No. He’s 50 percent me and 50 percent Hank. Hank actually has a lot of red in his beard. Right now Hank Jr. has auburn hair and blue eyes–he’s beautiful.

So let’s deconstruct what Kendra is basically saying. 1.She is saying her child is beautiful because he has auburn hair and blue eyes. 2. Hank Jr.  won’t actually look black enough to experience racism (because only REALLY black people do) 3. The auburn hair is meant to signify Whiteness (I think Malcolm X was called “red” as well, lol), so they will know they can’t treat him too badly.

We all know Kendra isn’t bright. She spent a good chunk of her formative years on drugs, mustered up some money to buy herself some tits, and shot to fame playing cum-bucket for an octogenarian. But I just want to expose my readers to one of  the foundational faces of the multiracial movement. So Kendra REFUSES to deal with the possibility that when this child grows up, he may get darker (as many children of African heritage do), and may be confused by his subordinate position in this world based soley on his shading. Even if that shading isn’t the darkest on the spectrum. I just hope her son doesn’t grow up blaming Black people for his confusion.

And I should add that Kendra could be right. Her son could look entirely White as an adult. But then I must ask, how would she explain to him that she spent her youth snorting coke and giving blow jobs to men on the brink of death until she finally convinced a black guy she was hoodrattish enough to be relatable to blacks, and therefore marriage-worthy?? I have a feeling that struggle will be as difficult as the racial one.

Next up on the discussion agenda is Toure Neblett. Yeah yeah…I barely know who he is too.

Introspective: Leona Lewis Faces Racism

https://i0.wp.com/thebosh.com/upload/2008/05/26/leona_lewis_engaged/Leona-Lewis.jpg

This article is a bit dated but when it initially came out I didn’t really feel like reading past the headline. Now that I have time to kill, I’ll quickly go through it:

X Factor winner Leona Lewis was ordered from a shop because of her race.

She was told to leave the unnamed London store along with her Guyana-born father Joe. Bleeding Love star Leona, 24, who was buying photo frames, said: “This woman told us, ‘get out of my store right now’. I asked her ‘are you joking?’

“She said, ‘No, I want both of you to remove yourselves from my store’. I asked why – and pointing at my dad she said, ‘I don’t like the look of him. I want him to go now’.

“I said: “What do you mean? She said, ‘I know why you’re coming in here’. She was implying we were trying to steal stuff.”

The woman shouted at Leona in front of other customers, but despite being in tears the singer refused to leave. “I was so angry my dad had to drag me out of the shop. I’d never experienced anything like that. Being judged by the colour of your skin is horrible.”

Source

I’m under the impression that this happened after she became famous. I could be wrong.

SOOOOO you and your dad are racially profiled. Check.  You are angry and distraught-brought to tears by the incident. Check. You NEVER experienced anything like that until AFTER you became globally recognizable by name and face. Check. You are a world famous singer, and you have a global platform with which you can use to publicly shun this woman and her business. Check. You decide to go public with the story, but you DO NOT name the store and you DO NOT identify the racist?????? Did they pay you off???

My conclusion: Classic example of complacency towards White racism.

If the story isn’t a complete fabrication, this might be an attempt at some urban credibility LOL. I sense an R&B album on the horizon. It’s been done before…
